Environment

Gil Cisneros is a strong supporter of the Paris Climate Agreement/Accord and the environmental acts that Obama passed like the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc. He is a long term opponent of what Trump has been doing to repeal/pull out of these agreements/laws, and he wants to hold Donald Trump accountable for that.

Guns

Gil is an opponent of the NRA and the other gun lobbyists. In his website, he writes: "As the representative of CA-39, I will build upon the efforts of the admirable Parkland students and fight to pass long overdue gun policy reforms. I believe that it’s not enough to simply embrace gun violence prevention, we need to fight to expand background check requirements, ban assault weapons, oppose Concealed Carry Reciprocity, repeal the Dickey Amendment, and take other measures to keep guns out of the hands of violent criminals, domestic terrorists, and those with mental challenges."

Immigration and Protecting Dreamers

Gil is a supporter of the DACA and will in Congress fight to protect the rights of dreamers.

Homelessness

Gil supports an economy that works for the middle class. He says: "Congress needs to stop giving handouts to Wall Street and banks, and force them to pay their fair share. While Ed Royce pushes for tax cuts for his billionaire buddies, I will fight to reduce taxes for the middle class and eliminate tax breaks for special interests and big corporations that send jobs overseas." He is a supporter of paid family leave.
